Blog posts

Below are two examples of how libraries use blogs

1) To accentuate services provided and community relationships.

2) To discuss big issues regarding what libraries are and do.

What other possibilities are there for blogs and libraries?

We use our library blog for a number of purposes. We list programs we’re having in our library, talk about issues affecting our patrons and offer resources to people in our community. We also use our blog to review books, let our patrons know about new books in our library and list genealogy information that pertains to our local history. Our blog also tries to be an interesting spot for people to “drop by” and read, on subject matter that pertains to libraries, reading or books in general.
Our library blog is mainly for people who use libraries and not just for people who work in libraries.

See above comments! Someone from Carleton Place Public Library found this blog, probably from a keyword search about library blogs, so putting in tags seems to have drawn at least some viewers. Thanks for the info.
